Drink of the week

Alcohol has no power to make an occasion more or less special. Here are some beautiful mocktail recipes to keep you inspired. Do you have a recipe to share?

Pineapple Spritzer

Friday 28 Jul, 2017, 7:46am by Mrs D 1 comment

Hardly a recipe but delicious nonetheless and basically a party in a glass if you add a few decorations. I made this drink for my sons on holiday last week and they were very delighted! Ingredients: Pineapple juice Fizzy water Fresh lemon slices Ice cubes Method: Quarter fill a glass with pineapple juice. Top up […]

Blackcurrant Toddy

Friday 14 Jul, 2017, 2:21pm by Mrs D 1 comment

Very cold here in New Zealand right now and I have sick boys in the house, so just made this delicious warming concoction for us all to share. I actually got the recipe from a Barker’s of Geraldine booklet and used their blackcurrant fruit syrup as well. You could substitute with any blackcurrant syrup if […]

Pineapple Crush

Friday 7 Jul, 2017, 2:45pm by Mrs D Share your ideas

This drink is ridiculously simple but incredibly satisfying in a frosty/mocktail kind of a way. Ingredients (quantities are variable): 1 cup fresh pineapple pieces 1/4 cup lemon/lime juice 5 Ice cubes Water Method: Put all ingredients into a nutra bullet or blender and blitz until liquid. Enjoy!

Coconut mango smoothie

Friday 23 Jun, 2017, 10:10am by Mrs D Share your ideas

This would make a delicious breakfast drink or afternoon tummy filler. I like my smoothies quite thick but if you’d rather have it runnier just add some water. Also, you can substitute the coconut/almond milk for any milk of your choice.

Cucumber Rose Water Mocktail

Friday 9 Jun, 2017, 3:02pm by Mrs D Share your ideas

Mr D and I really enjoyed this drink! It feels like a healthy green juice but much lighter and more festive with the fizzy water element. It would definitely work as a special occasion drink especially if you were on a health-kick at the time. You can leave the rose water out if you don’t […]

Masala Chai

Friday 19 May, 2017, 7:52am by Mrs D 2 comments

I absolutely love this tea! The process of making it is as rewarding as the drinking of it. Play with the flavours according to your tastes (e.g. more ginger) and if you’re not in the mood for creamy and sweet then leave out the milk & honey and add another cup of water. Ingredients: 2 cups […]

Chai smoothie

Saturday 6 May, 2017, 2:48pm by Mrs D 4 comments

I just had a craving for something thirst quenching, slightly spicy and filling at the same time.. so whipped this baby up! I keep old bananas frozen in the freezer for just such a thing. Chai teabags are easy to find in the herbal tea section of the supermarket. Ingredients: 1 frozen banana (or 1 ripe […]

Green Juice

Friday 21 Apr, 2017, 8:40am by Mrs D 1 comment

This is my regular green juice that I make often – sometimes daily when I’m in a really healthy phase or sometimes in direct response to guilt (like today because I ate a massive piece of white chocolate fudge yesterday). You need a juicer to make it but I heartily recommend buying one and making […]

Cherry Mocktail

Friday 31 Mar, 2017, 12:14pm by Mrs D Share your ideas

I made this drink up because I’ve had a jar of Cocktail Cherries in the pantry for ages that I’ve been meaning to do something with. I’m really proud of myself because it’s utterly delicious! A delicate flavour but quite treaty and very refreshing. It’s ridiculously simple and would be great to serve to guests, […]
